Diagnosed: A Mental Health Journey is a three-day group exhibition celebrating World Mental Health Day through art, poetry, music and spoken word. The centrepiece features original illustrations by multiple artists inspired by Diagnosed, a collection of 24 poems chronicling poet and author Mervin Scott's mental health journey.
The exhibition creates space for open conversations about mental health, aiming to foster empathy, challenge stigma and promote understanding through creative expression. Across the three days, expect live performances, poetry workshops, screenings of the Diagnosed film (presented in three parts across the weekend), and a special guest speaker on the closing night.
Programme highlights:
- Friday 23 October: Opening night with music, spoken word, creative performances and Diagnosed Film – Part 1
- Saturday 24 October: World Mental Health Day celebrations with workshops (including a poetry workshop by Ellana Blacher at 4pm), exhibitions and an evening programme with Diagnosed Film – Part 2
- Sunday 25 October: Closing day featuring creative encounters, guest speaker and Diagnosed Film – Part 3
Art and merchandise will be available to purchase throughout. Drinks and light refreshments are provided. Entry to the opening night is ticketed; subsequent days are free to attend.
