This half-day conference brings together leading voices in insolvency, restructuring and business law. Keynote speaker Suzanne Williams QPM, former senior hostage and kidnap negotiation expert at Scotland Yard, will share insights on crisis management, negotiation and leadership under pressure, drawing on her experience advising governments and working with the FBI.
The event features four key sessions: an eminent judicial panel including Lord Justice Zacaroli, Mrs. Justice Joanna Smith, Judge Anna Elisabeth De Vos and Justice Jane Dietrich examining evolving expectations for court practitioners across different legal systems; a specialist panel on detecting and recovering from fraud in distressed corporate situations; and a practical session on the complexities of distressed M&A transactions, including pre-pack administrations, hive-downs and the interplay between speed and transparency.
Taking place on 18 November 2026 at One Moorgate Place in London, the conference is hosted by the IWIRC London network in collaboration with Octus. A drinks reception follows at The Tokenhouse, Moorgate (5-11 pm).
